What is a subpoena?
Subpoena is a writ or
order directed to a person requiring their appearance at a particular time and place to
testify as a witness, which may also require that the witness bring with them specified
records. (The appearance of a witness may not always be required so long as they
produce the specified records at the time and place indicated on the Subpoena.)
Subpoena Duces Tecum is an order for a witness to appear at court and bring with them copies of
records listed in the subpoena.
