Subpoenas

The Records Management and Information Practices department processes subpoenas for employment and payroll records for UCLA.  There are other types of records requests that are also processed throughout the campus.  If you are served with a subpoena or have questions pertaining to a subpoena, contact Robert Baldridge at ext. 48960.

What is a subpoena?

Subpoena is a writ or order directed to a person requiring their appearance at a particular time and place to testify as a witness, which may also require that the witness bring with them specified records.  (The appearance of a witness may not always be required so long as they produce the specified records at the time and place indicated on the Subpoena.)

Subpoena Duces Tecum is an order for a witness to appear at court and bring with them copies of records listed in the subpoena.
