DOS Code List Column Descriptions
The DOS code list in alphabetical order is a complete list of the DOS codes that appear in the DOS Code Table of the Personnel/Payroll System (PPS). The DOS Code Table report (PPP0410) is available in Document Direct. A description of the indicators in this report is provided in the DOS Code Table Report Description. To view the alphabetical list, refer to related links.
The list includes selected indicators from the DOS Code Table report (PPP0410), which are useful for establishing appointment distributions in the Employee Data Base (EDB) and for entering time in the Payroll Time Reporting System (PTR).
Description of Columns in the DOS Code List:
|DOS Code||Three-character code used to identify type of compensation.|
|Pay Type/Check Description||Twelve-character description of the payment type that will appear in the Employee Data Base (EDB), Post-Audit Notification (PAN), the check stub, and the earnings statement for direct deposit.|
|Full Description||A twenty-five character description of the type of compensation.|
|SEQ#||Three-digit sequence number from the Personnel Payroll System (PPS) DOS code table. This number may be used to locate the DOS code in the PPP0410 report.|
Indicates the fields of the Payroll Time Reporting System (PTR) in which a DOS code and the associated time are reported. There are two sets of time reporting fields in PTR:
By agreement - the DOS is a flat amount payment with no associated hours or percent of time. The DOS code is entered in the PTR field used for regular-type pay. However, time is not entered for this DOS code.
Leave Accrual - used for reporting leave usage or accrual adjustments. The DOS code and associated time is reported in the fields reserved for overtime/leave.
None - This code is not normally used in online time reporting because it is either a suspense code used only in the EDB or an old code no longer in use.
Overtime - The DOS code and associated time is reported in the fields reserved for overtime/leave.
In the DOS Code List, the associated overtime DOS code is provided in the Reference/Comment column. For example OTS (Overtime Straight) is normally associated with REG (Regular Pay) while SOS (Shift Overtime Straight) is normally associated with SDF (Shift Differential). See the related article for a complete list of reference codes.
Regular - The DOS code and associated time is reported in the fields reserved for regular type pay.
|EDB||Identifies DOS codes that are recorded in the Appointment Distribution of the Employee Data Base (EDB) and which reflect on the roster (unless they are identified in the reference/comments column as EDB Only).|
Identifies the Department Adjustment Transaction (EDAT) function of PTR that would most often be used to process a payment using this DOS code when the Time Input Roster cannot be used.
Note: "None" indicates that the code is not used on the EDAT screens because it is a suspense code or it is not in use at the present time.
